Outboard motor propellers

Aluminium boat propellers are the most common choice. For outboards above 40 hp, owners often prefer a stainless steel propeller. Stainless steel can be a better choice for speed and fuel efficiency, although it costs more to buy. Aluminium is generally sufficient, but stainless steel offers higher efficiency when maximum propeller performance is required. In normal use, we believe the difference is relatively small. Plastic propellers are intended only for smaller outboards, such as 2 or 2.5 hp engines.
