Kill switch

Are you looking for a kill cord or kill switch for your Yamaha, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki, Mariner or other brand outboard motor? At Hebor Watersport, we have universal kill cords (including kill switches) that can be connected to virtually any brand of outboard or inboard motor.

How a dead man's switch works

A dead man's switch prevents your boat from continuing to sail uncontrolled if you fall into the water. The cord is connected to a dead man's button. If you fall overboard, the pull of the cord automatically shuts off the engine. This brings your boat to an immediate halt, giving you the opportunity to climb back on board. A dead man's switch and cord can be installed on both inboard and outboard engines.

Is a dead man's switch mandatory for outboard engines?

A dead man's switch or cord is mandatory on any boat or jet ski that travels faster than 20 km/h. The person steering the boat wears the dead man's cord around his or her wrist. If the boat does not travel faster than 20 km/h but is regularly steered by a child, we also recommend installing a dead man's cord and switch.
